About The Old Barracks
The Old Barracks is the former Army Barracks situated within Puckpool Park, which was once a Victorian Fortification Battery used to guard the Solent. The park is now a historic monument offering fantastic sea views & sandy beaches, with a childrens play park, tennis courts, mini golf, petanque, putting & beautiful gardens.
Its located on the outskirts of Ryde on the Isle of Wight. The area is best known for Puckpool Park, a park with an 18 hole putting green, 12 hole mini golf, two tennis courts and a superb kids park. Its now also renowned for the excellent food provided at Puckpool Tea Gardens.
Puckpool Point features a natural sheltered bay offering a large expanse of sand and a gently sloping beach which becomes very popular with tourists and local residents during the summer season. A wide pedestrian and cycle promenade leading to Puckpool Point lines the entire bay.
